Eight themes woven around eight stories is the core competency of Tangerine Homes.

·        Turq Tango: Turquoise is cool and calming. Tangerine is fresh and exciting. Together, they create new shades of joy and creativity with Turq Tango, a sprightly new combination of ice lolly orange and luscious blue palettes. Tinged with retro, the mood is hot summer sun dancing with cool refreshing water. Bright, effervescent and sprightly, it adds a burst of energy in any room.

·        Indigo Bay: Indigo is more than blue. It is the colour of infinity. It is a colour which relates to the “New Age”. Choosing indigo indicates an artistic and creative mind. It signifies unique insight and openness to new knowledge. Tangerine captures the powerful presence of indigo with Indigo Bay, a collection of crisp stripes, chunky checks and grunge denims, splashed with lime and red.

·        Midnight Rouge: The much loved Black and White invites some new friends over to create drama that is simple and effective. Shades of grey and pops of red and pink stir up some seduction through sapid stripes and wispy florals in Midnight Rouge, Tangerine’s enfant terrible. Giving you the much required highlights of the night.

·        The Fete collection is designed to ensure your gift stands apart
and is treasured. It features a, myriad of moods associated with every
celebration or festive occasion. The range is constantly updated in accordance with
the latest fashion trends and colors to create a different look and feeling.

·        The Zen XP collection by Tangerine combines the latest innovations in health and comfort. Made from the finest materials which do not trap perspiration or moisture, they have also been tested for hypoallergenic properties. Designed for ‘intelligent’ support, these products ensure a restful and healthy sleep on every instance.

·        The golden desert comes alive in the aptly titled Desert Safari. Represented onto linen as leaves and ornamental prints, Desert Safari is metallic shades of gold like burnished bronze, rustic copper and brass.

·        Plum Pleasures brings out the lush, rich, velvety experience that only this deep colour can. The look and feel is that of a warm cocoon during a winter night. Dark pinks are given a playing field in the form of oversized florals.

·        Creamy shades of aqua and avocado make up Aquacado. Shades of lime, teal and green give the bed linen a fresh mood. This collection is seen in stripes and light florals.

·        Scarlet Sunset is all about the redolent mood of red. The feel is fervent yet mellow in its geometric prints.

Tangerine Home Couture is available in leading speciality stores, departmental stores, online stores and mom and pop furnishing stores across the country.

The fifth edition of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week in association with AZVA at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai commenced on Day 1 with Jyotsna Tiwari’s collection at AVIBFW.

Inspired by the seven colours from the Navratan jewellery collections, Worlddestination.com presented Jyotsna Tiwari’s magnificent collection called “Elohim” that opened the 5th edition of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 on Day One.

The venue was decorated with thousands of white blossoms that bloomed from 12 trees that lined the ramp. Floral arches edged the giant doors on the stage and the mood was set for a glamorous presentation of bridal wear.

Opening the show with a beautiful white tulle gown with a crystal bodice, Jyotsna enchanted the audience with more glittering creations. Embroidered lace over peach tulle created a magical floor kissing creation and lehengas were teamed with corsets sparkling with 3D appliqués. The sari gown-cum-lehenga had a dramatic tulle pallav, while the fuchsia net rouched embellished creation was a dream to behold.

Lace, net and sequins dazzled under the ramp lights for the collection. Sumptuous luxurious fabrics in silks and silk blends, satins and organzas along with shimmering hand woven traditional Indian textiles formed the base of the colourful, vibrant, youthful bridal cocktail and occasion wear line.

The sequinned peplum top and moulded mermaid skirt, black shimmering one-shoulder gown with a net trail and the black lehenga with flouncy red piped flared skirt with lace bustier were sensational. Anarkalis with embroidered panels were worn over layers of tulle in myriad styles.

Surface texturing combined with fine tailoring, along with eclectic embellishments gave a edge to the silhouettes. Florals in 3D clusters were the highlight of many of the creations with touches of sequins, pearls and crystals.

Adding Indo-western lines, Jyotsna offered a perfect mix of the East and West to the contemporary bride searching for scintillating creations.

Bringing in graphic patterns that will delight the Indian buyers, the glorious hues along with gold and ombré touches gave the ensembles an ethereal look.

Ending the show was the gorgeous Bollywood beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez in a superbly designed fuchsia lehenga worn with a gold encrusted choli and embroidered net dupatta.

Catering to couples who opt for destination weddings, Jyotsna Tiwari’s “Elohim” collection was a “must have” on any bridal shopping list.

WORLDDESTINATION.COM PRESENTED TARUN TAHILIANI’S COUTURE COLLECTION WHICH WAS A RICH DISPLAY OF GLTIZ AND GLAMOUR AT THE AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK 2013

WORLDDESTINATION.COM PRESENTED TARUN TAHILIANI’S COUTURE COLLECTION WHICH WAS A RICH DISPLAY OF GLTIZ AND GLAMOUR AT THE AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK 2013

 ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The fifth edition of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week in association with AZVA at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on Day 1 showcased Tarun Tahiliani’s collection.

Staying true to his cultural roots and adding his characteristic couture touches to the collection, Worlddestination.com presented Tarun Tahiliani’s rich collection replete with glitz and glamour at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.

Bare wooden frames and arches created a dramatic décor for the stark black stage and ramp, while abstract design chandeliers rose to the ceiling at the start of the show.

Eight contemporary male and female dancers from the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts danced gracefully between sections of the show, to movements innovatively choreographed by artistic director Jayachandran Palazhy creating a the perfect start to an amazing show.

Moving seamlessly from the grandeur of royal India for the ensembles to the more finely structured intricate techniques that gave style and elegance, Tarun added Indian craft in all its glory to create a visual and stylish impact on the ramp.

Taking the audience back into an era when hand crafted creations with ornate thread work were a “must have” for bridal trousseaux, Tarun worked with ivory silk threads for panelled kurtas, splashed with opals, pearls and Swarovski crystals. Saris had antique gold, silver, jamavaar, gotta, chikankari and Bandhani work; while brocade and zardosi livened up the kalidaar kurtas.

THE GOLDEN COLLECTION

Created from Italian lamé jersey, which hugged the sexy curves of the models, the Grecian goddess creations were a dream to behold. Drapes which are Tarun’s forté were taken to a higher level, while the sari with the pallav had a fusion influence. 3D flowers, chain mail dupatta, hand embroidery and Swarovski created a gracious elegant fashion statement.

The combination of Grecian and Amrapali like silhouettes gave the creations an unbelievable touch. Tarun’s clever folds turned the lovely models into goddesses, as tulle sparkled for rouched lehengas, churidars emerged under drapes, loose jersey pants with cowl neck kurtas, harem pants and overlapping tunics caused a gold rush on the catwalk.

The gold fishtail gown with crystal encrusted bodice and the pre- stitched lehenga/sari creations were visions in innovative construction. Boleros gave gowns an exciting touch and fabric tassels at the sides of figure hugging creations cascaded down seductively.

THE ENCHANTED FOREST

Straight from the beautiful forest came shades of pink, ivory, beige and red to create fairy tale garments. Colours of the peacock blue were one of the highlights of this collection while necklines were innovative and classic saris were teamed with Obe belts, capes or bustiers to impart an international touch. Intricately embellished dupatta, floor length kurtas with traditional crafts, saris with heirloom borders and lehengas with a forest of flowers matched the theme of the section.

Inspired by the flamenco dancer, hints of Spanish touches were observed in the long full trains for the concept saris. Bling was understated but very much there to offer a stylish option.

The red bridal Saat Pheras creations were breath taking in all their beauty. The final pale blue lehenga with lavish crystal embroidery and pearl studded work with silver touches was what brides dream of all their lives.

THE MAN OF THE HOUR

Men’s wear was given a major boost by Tarun with draped dhotis created from Kanjeevaram saris and sherwanis with intricate detailing. Giving a clever fashionable twist to the bandhgala, Tarun added a jersey stole in the neckline. Model and actor Asif Azim was seen scorching the ramp in one of his creations. There were structured cummerbunds in fusion form, in shades of jade, pleated royal blue and jewelled choices. Rich velvet sherwanis had embroidered necklines and cuffs but often pleated collars replaced lapels.

Tarun Tahiliani’s bridal collection which was a superb display of craft, style and couture will gladden the hearts of brides and grooms when they say their “I Do”.

Poignant historical film ‘The Bastard Child’ all set to release in India and Bangladesh this December!

Mrityunjay Devvrat’s film title awaiting an approval from the IMPPA.

ImageImageImageImageImage

November 29th, 2013: Director Mrityunjay Devvrat awaiting an approval from the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) for his film, titled ‘The Bastard Child.’ Mrityunjay is amazed that “Naajayaz (1995), Kaminey (2009) and Inglourious Basterds (2009) are acceptable but not my title. I don’t understand why they are objecting because only the Censor Board has the authority to reject titles.” He adds, “The dictionary defines ‘bastard’ as a child born out of wedlock. It becomes profane only when society uses it in the wrong sense. Maybe they are troubling me because I don’t have enough sources.” We all know of Hitler and his atrocious ways. People have watched Schindler’s List (1993) and Guns Of Navarone (1961) but the genocide that took place in Bangladesh is something that hasn’t been spoken about. The film will showcase how rape and religion were used as war weaponry.

The film deals with the birth of Bangladesh in 1971, focusing on the genocide and when “400,000 women were raped and 3 million people were killed.

Mrityunjay hopes the film releases smoothly in India. “It might face protests in Bangladesh but I will release it there as I spent part of my childhood in the country. This is a small token from my end,” he says.

On being contacted, IMPPA president TP Aggarwal says, “I spoke to the Film Makers Combined and they found the title abusive so they rejected it. I spoke to them to reconsider. Now if the film-maker reapplies, we will reconsider.”

The Bastard Child’ is a controversial film about the sanguinary birth of Bangladesh in 1971. It’s the 1st Indian global film of sorts because its the first indian film talking about another country and what happened there. It is the 1st shocking revelation of what happened in Bangladesh.Directed by an Indian, Mrityunjay Devvrat, this movie is based on a true story and all the facts that were not known to many. It is the Best Kept Secret in the world.

Pavan Malhotra, being a powerful performer, has amazingly portrayed a role of a crude pakistani army officer. The movie also has some veteran performers like Farooq Shaikh and Victor Banerjee. Raima Sen and Indraneil Sengupta play the role of victims and this is the strongest role played by them by far.

Looking forward to his debut release, director of The Bastard Child, Mritunjay Devvrat says, “The Bastard Child’ is a gripping and compelling reconstruction of the events that took place in Bangladesh, in 1971. Not a single soul remained without the tears of sorrow in their eyes for years to come since then. If not anything, it would be only fair to bring out the reality for the world to see. It’s a film like no other, uniting the notable actors of hindi film industry delivering some power packed performances that would surely touch many hearts. We are keenly looking forward to its theatrical release. Indians should definitely watch the tale of its neighboring nation.”

The background score has been given by very talented Sidhant Mathur and Ishaan Chhabra. Mr. Fasahat Khan, D.O.P of the film has done complete justice by capturing the right essence of the subject.

The Bastard Child is expected to release on December 27th, 2013. This emotionally stimulating film is all set to carve a dent in the history.

YRF released Gunday’s teaser last week and it’s created a lot of noise and has had a positive impact.

Shoot extensively in Calcutta and Bengal, the film’s back drop essentially lends itself to releasing the film in Bengali.

YRF plans to release the teaser poster and teaser trailer in Bengali this week.

Gunday has another strong Bengali connect as Bapi da has given music and this is the first time that YRF and Bapi da have come together.

Starring Ranvir Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Irfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra, Gunday is one of the big releases of next year.

Spokesperson of Gunday says, “The film is set during Calcutta’s most turbulent times of the 70’s and this is at the soul of the film with the characters seeped in the culture of that time. Consequently, the plans for releasing the film also in Bengali was finalised at the pre-production stage.”

The unstable environment within their homes manifests into their daring attitude towards life. Amrita Rao’s scary Morning

Image

Recently while actress Amrita Rao was on her way to the airport for an early morning flight she came across a rickshaw driver physically assaulting a woman. in the most brutal manner. It was 4 am in the morning and the rickshaw was parked in a secluded area of a long private road that connected to the main road. When Amrita saw the rickshaw driver holding a woman by her hair and banging her head to the ground mercilessly she couldn’t force herself to move on and had to stop to try and stop the man. She opened the car door and howled at the man to stop hitting the woman and scared him that she will call the cops. But he ignored justifying that the woman he was beating up was a thief. When Amrita’s driver stepped out of the car to stop the man, three other men who also could have been rickshaw drivers and who could have been involved in the woman getting beaten up came out of nowhere and started hovering around her car. As soon as Amrita realised that she hurriedly summoned her driver to get back into the car and fled away from the location. Amrita realised she did not even have her mobile as she had forgotten it at home. Amrita proposed to the driver to go to the police station but he suggested that she will surely miss the flight. On realising that it would be highly unprofessional to miss her flight and not land up at the event where all arrangements and bookings were already made and there were people eagerly awaiting her arrival, she headed to the airport but the day had already started on a bad note and her car broke down on the highway and then she had to call for an emergency help and somehow managed to get on the flight.

Amrita says, “I haven’t slept well since the incident imagining what would have happened if the 4 men got together and attacked me and my driver. It was still dark and no one would have heard our screams. It is a HEIGHLY unsafe city for women AND I also realised that DAY THAT A lot of injustice must be happening to the women of our country between 12 am-5 am.”

She further adds, “Although what I did was very dangerous, ideally I should have called the police and informed them the location and the rickshaw number so that they could take action. Getting involved was very dangerous and would have only worsen things but I raised my voice against women getting beaten up and as a woman myself that is the only satisfaction that stays with me.”

An evening of wit, words and whisky at The Glenlivet Guardians Chapter event

An evening of wit, words and whisky at The Glenlivet Guardians Chapter event

 ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Mumbai, 22nd November 2013: Whisky is the oil of conversations and this adage was brought to life at The Glenlivet G.U.A.R.D.I.A.N.S event in Mumbai on Friday evening. Scotch enthusiasts, and some of the city’s most famous and popular faceswere regaled by the words and wit of The Glenlivet “3×20” speakers – journalist and author Naresh Fernandes, writer and dancer Tishani Doshi and writer and publisher Sirish Rao who interpreted the themes of classic, exotic and revival respectively.

Part of a worldwide initiative called The Guardians of The Glenlivet, on Thursday 100 Indian scotch aficionados were called together for a tasting and voting session in order to create the 2014 edition of The Glenlivet. These chosen Guardians then voted for their favourite out of the three blends – Classic, Exotic and Revival – createdby master distiller Alan Winchester. The Friday event at Camelot, one of Mumbai’s most treasured troves of antique and colonial furniture, was a continuation of The Guardians Chapter.

Ian Logan, international brand ambassador Chivas Brothers was pleased with the reception that he and the whisky received at tasting on Thursday. “The Guardians Chapter gives us a chance to get to know our customers a little better and give them something in return. It has been a great experience to see people faces reacting to these variants. The Classic, Revival and Exotic are variations of the original style of Glenlivet and we have tried to match them to the personalities of the key members of the Smith family. The Classic is obviously based on George Smith, the founder of the distillery. Revival has been inspired by the efforts of his son John Gordon Smith to save the brand and Exotic is for George Smith’s great grandson, Captain Bill Smith Grant, who introduced The Glenlivet to America. Today is another opportunity for us to say thank you to our guests and customers,” Logan said of the Friday event.

The evening witnessed a great turn out of guests which included the city’s literati and cognoscenti. Bollywood was well represented by actresses Aditi Rao Hydari, Amrita Puri, theatre and film actress Lillette Dubey and her daughter Ira, actress Smita Jaykar and actor Dalip Tahil. Food critic Rashmi Uday Singh and noted cricket writer and commentator Ayaz Memon and Ravi Dubey, Designer Denzil Smith and Sangita Kathiawad were also seen enjoying the evening.

The “3×20” sessions wherein each speaker was invited to speak for 20 minutes each were indeed the highlight of the evening. There are few others who know Mumbai as well as Naresh Fernandes, and his latest book Taj Mahal Foxtrot: The Story of Bombay’s Jazz Age is an attestation of that. He chose to speak about the influence of jazz and jazz musicians in Bollywood in the period between 1930s-1960s, to reflect the theme of classic. “I was surprised at how early jazz came to India and how Bombay was where Indian jazz found its voice and how Bollywood songs like Eena Meena Deeka and Mera Naam Chin-Chin Choo are examples of Indian jazz. My talk tonight echoes the theme of blends, how influences merge together to create something new,” Fernandes said.

A celebrated poet and writer Tishani Doshi didn’t have to look too far beyond her personal experiences to talk on the theme of exotic. Born to Welsh-Gujarati parents and having studied in the United States, Doshi’s take on what exotic meant to her had the audience in splits. “It was a challenge to understand what exotic meant to me but I saw it as a very interesting concept. I looked at it within my own context and I realised that for me exotic is what’s inside us,” Doshi said.

With 20 books to his name, writer and publisher and artistic director of the Indian Summer Festival, Sirish Rao’s interpretation on the theme of revival was entertaining. He chose to speak about the revival of the printing industry in Sivakasi in the 1970s through baby calendars and how it coincided with the rebuilding of India. “These baby calendars with chubby toddlers in different costumes acting out various professions were perhaps indicative of how transfer our dreams and ambitions to our children and also interestingly, how at this point, India was reviving itself as a nation,” Rao explained.

When Javed Jaffrey turned Make-Up Artist!!

Ace Choreographer turned actor Javed Jaffrey who has done some memorable roles in  films like ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Dhamaal’ ,‘Singh Is King’ & several others will soon be seen a comic avatar once again for BR Entertainment’s ‘Mr. Joe B Carvalho’ starring Arshad Warsi & Soha Ali Khan.

Javed will be seen playing different characters in the film. We hear that for one particular character of a Maharashtrian Woman, Javed himself did his makeup of putting the prosthetic s & making it look as authentic as possible!

But what made Javed turn into a make-up artist for the film, a source close to the production team said, “We had specially flown down prosthetic s from Thailand, but due to some technical error it never reached Mumbai. Our shooting was supposed to commence the next day & the prosthetics had still not reached!! We all panicked and decided to call off the shoot for the next day, but since the booking was already done it could not be postponed!! Javed bhai himself took the situation under his control, goggled on how to do make up for prosthetic s and within no time took help from other makeup artists and started doing it. Yes! All by himself. He searched the net and did it. And to every one’s surprise it has come out perfect!

Well! So now when we see the Maharashtrian character played by Javed on-screen, we know he has put so much effort all by himself to get into the character.

Produced by Bhola Ram Malviya & Shital Malviya and Directed by Samir Tiwari

Mr. Joe B Carvalho starring Arshad Warsi, Soha Ali Khan, Jaaved Jaffrey, releases on 3rd January, 2014!!

Aamir gives in a 100 percent to everything he does. Recently the ace actor flew to Australia to learn tap dance.

Image
The form of dance is extremely difficult and needs constant practice. So even when he was back, Aamir kept at it at home or on sets.

Azad who was often around his dad, as mom Kiran was traveling to north east used to keenly observe him.

Aamir who was playing a hands on father with Kiran away, also took him on sets. Azad seems to be a quick learner himself picked up the steps.

He would imitate his dad and the way he moved around. Aamir thoroughly enjoyed the sight when he saw Azad copying him.

Its not an easy dance form and without any training Azad seems to pick it up. Seeing his father clapping for him.. Azad only got encouraged to keep at it. Kiran had a sight to watch when she was back from her vacation.

Both the father – son duo seemed to bond over dancing in her absence.

Spokesperson of Aamir confirms the news and adds ”Azad has picked up steps of tap dancing.”

If Shoojit Sircar is looking for an inspiration for the sequel of Vicky Donor, the director should have a look at the Hollywood film Delivery Man.

If Shoojit Sircar is looking for an inspiration for the sequel of Vicky Donor, the director should have a look at the Hollywood film Delivery Man.

The film Delivery Man which stars Vince Vaughn and Colbie Smudlers in the lead role is a perfect story line for the filmmaker to create a sequel to his film Vicky Donor.

Vince Vaughn who plays the character of David Wozniak, uses the alias starbuck and donates sperms. He later realizes that he has fathered 533 children. When a large group of them petition the sperm bank to reveal his identity, David has to decide whether or not to come forward. Simultaneously, his girlfriend is deciding whether he would make a suitable father.

The complete plot hereby makes a precise fit for Shoojit Sircar to give a thought for making a sequel to his immensely appreciated Vicky Donor. The film which starred Ayushman Khurana and Yami Gautam was a successful hit with the audience. It’s merely just a coincidence that how a sequel to Vicky Donor was created.

We are sure that even both the filmmakers are completely oblivious to what each of them has created. Neither of them know about a Vicky Donor or Delivery Man. It’s however amusing to know that how a sequel of the film with such an ideal story line was created in Hollywood.

The trailer of the film Delivery Man is already out and we suggest the director to have a look at it, so we can hope a sequel to Vicky Donor coming out soon.
