Kartik Aaryan shot for filmmaker Tanuja Chandra’s short film titled Silvat during Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.
According to several reports, Kartik has essayed the role of a coy Muslim boy who falls for an older woman in Silvat, which is about a young girl Noor, whose husband works in the Middle East and has not visited her for long time and in between waiting for her husband, Noor falls for someone else.
Not many know that Silvat is not a commercial Hindi movie but a short film, which Aaryan shot while during Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. The screening of Silvat was held last week and those who saw it couldn’t stop praising it for the subject and Kartik’s brilliant performance, including filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
Tanuja says, “Kartik is a wonderful actor, perhaps better than he realises himself! Beyond his boisterous persona, I felt there was a possibility of gentleness in him, stillness within that could be explored. My mantra to him during the shoot was ‘Don’t act! Feel And indeed, he was able to bring a real sweetness as well as heartbreak to this role of a young man in a tragic love story.”
The short film Silvat is also touted to be screened at several prestigious film festivals.
Kartik has recently signed director-producer Aanand L Rai’s next, a remake of the hit Tamil romantic comedy Kalayana Samayal Saadam.
