*DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav gave his inputs to keep Batla House authentic*

Director Nikkhil Advani’s next film, Batla House, is inspired by the Operation Batla House that took place in Delhi in 2008. Actor John Abraham plays DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who spearheaded the operation. While real life stories need a lot of research, the Deputy Commisioner of PoIice gave his inputs to keep the authenticity of the film.

According to a source, “He wanted even the minute details in the film to be perfect. When Sanjeev saw a few shots, he realised there were some minute corrections that were needed — the medals, uniform, etc. He informed Nikkhil and asked him to change it, so no mistakes are made.”

Nikkhil who was more than happy with Sanjeev’s inputs willingly reshot those scenes. “Batla House is inspired by a real life incident. However, we have always tried to be as thorough as possible when it comes to research. Whether it is costume, production design, props or language… we try and dig deep with our research. In the case of Batla House, it’s so fresh in the minds of people and there are many images that arv available for people to refer back to. All the interactions we had with the different parties that were involved and the various accounts, notes, blogs, interviews and opinions that we read, helped shape the narrative. DCP Yadav sir is avety quiet and cautious man. He would not say more than what was required. However. he did point out the details that we had missed out,” says director Nikkhil Advani.

Batla House also starring Mrunal Thakur and Ravi Kishan is directed by Nikkhil Advani. Produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Emmay Entertainment’s Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani & JA Entertainment in association with Bake My Cake Films’ Sandeep Leyzell, the film will release on 15th August 2019.

*Dil Mein Mars Hai song from Mission Mangal will be out today*

Last week, Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan,Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi came together to unveil the trailer of Mission Mangal. While the trailer that’s high on aspirational value seems to have found favour with the audience, the film’s team will launch the first song titled Dil Mein Mars Hai today. The movie is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan, carried out by a team of scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). With the mission, India became the first Asian nation to reach Martian orbit and the first nation in the world to do so in its maiden attempt.

Talking about the idea behind the inspirational track, debutant director Jagan Shakti says, “The song is more like an anthem that plays out at different junctures in the film. It almost binds the story together. Each scientist working on Mission Mangal has their own idea for this ambitious venture, but faces roadblocks while executing them.”

“In the film, the team members use their skills to crack problems, whether it is monetary, technological or otherwise. What matters to them is the ultimate goal, which is to successfully send the Mangalyaan into space to orbit Mars, and to do that in the first attempt despite constraints. Hence, we have titled this song Dil Mein Mars Hai, because, for these scientists, dil mein mars hai, quite literally.” adds the director.

Lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and co-producer R Balki worked with Jagan on the lyrics. “We tried a few things, which were very techheavy and they somehow didn’t bring out the emotion that we wanted to highlight. Then, we decided to try something simple, which brings out the underlying sentiment clearly. The idea was to highlight the scientists’ undeterred spirit to achieve their goal and Dil Mein Mars Hai says it all,” says Jagan.

*It’s time for ‘O Saki Saki’*

After breaking records with 2018 hit song Dilbar, the makers are set for yet another chartbuster – O Saki Saki. The recreated track of 2004’s iconic song with the same name is set to be released today. After launching the trailer last week that raised a lot of curiosity amongst media and audiences on the subject of the film, the makers launch their first song online today.

O Saki Saki featuring the sensuous Nora Fatehi is recomposed by Tanishk Bagchi and sung by Tulsi Kumar and Neha Kakkar. Choreographed and directed by Adil Sheikh, the teaser of the song that released two days ago, has already garnered a solid traction in the youth and became one of the most awaited track of the year.

With all eyes glued on jaw-dropping sensation Nora Fatehi, who wooed us in previous remake of Dilbar is set to sizzle again. Speaking about it Nora says, “Getting the opportunity to be able to perform on a song like O Saki Saki, which is has been made on such an epic level by Tanishq , sung by Neha and Tulsi; is a dream. The way Tanishq has composed this song is out of this world and I knew visually I’ll have to match up. I learnt to dance with fire fans for the first time within only 3 days, and I must say it was extremely challenging. As the fire fans were heavy and dancing with fire is very risky. it was difficult to maneuver and dance with them effortlessly. Thankfully, I had the drive to do it because I wanted the audience to see me add something new to my dance. The best part is i am acting in the film Batla house so my characters performance to the song saki in the film leads up to very important sequence of events that carries the story forward. I am very grateful to Nikkhil Advani sir, Bhushan Kumar sir, John Abraham , T-series and Emmay Entertainment for giving me this opportunity. As an artist i always want to take it up another level, give something new to the audience and push my self further, Be it with my desi avtar or with the intense hook step in the video O Saki Saki, I am hoping i am able to achieve that and I’m looking forward for the audience to see my performance throughout the film.”

Even though a dance track, the song comes at a crucial point in the film which takes the story ahead. This song in all its glory showcases Nora 2.0 version as she pulls off some sensational never seen before dance moves which will make the nation groove to it and is surely a chartbuster song.

The original track by Vishal shekhar, sung bu Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh that featured Sunjay Dutt and Koena Mitra became a success back then. Tulsi Kumar, who already has few successful songs this year, is delivering one of her finest performances with this song. The versatile Tulsi Kumar Says, “O Saki Saki will become a dance anthem for the season. In the past as well, everyone grooved to the track and its back yet again in a completely new version. This year is about reinventing my voice, challenging myself to show a different side of my vocal quality. With this song, I have pushed my boundaries and tried to something very different. After doing several romantic soft numbers, I am stepping into doing high on energy, peppy dance tracks which I am completely enjoying. Tanishk has done wonders with the track and it also marks my first collaboration with Neha. Nora will surprise the audiences with her sizzling performance and it’s great to lend my voice for her. I am super excited for the audiences to see the song.”

Batla House is directed by Nikkhil Advani. Produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Emmay Entertainment’s Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani & JA Entertainment in association with Bake My Cake Films’ Sandeep Leyzell, the film will release on 15th August 2019.

*John Abraham on his upcoming film Batla House*

John Abraham is all set for another movie, which is based on a real incident of national interest. ‘Batla House’, inspired by the Operation Batla House that took place in 2008, features him as police officer Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. Talking about the responsibility of play a real life character he says, “The responsibility is even bigger as this is the first time I am playing someone who is still serving. If he (Sanjeev Kumar) thinks I am not good enough, he can shoot me (laughs!). So, I better be good at portraying him in the film.”

To get into the skin of the character, John spent a lot of time with Sanjeev. He shares, “I spent a lot of time with Sanjeev and his wife Shobhna to understand his mindset, body language, the way he sits, stands, talks, reacts to situations and what he went through. I had a million questions for him.”

The actor adds, “There were times when I was tempted to take creative liberties, but I refrained from that; I wanted to be true to the character. It was interesting playing him, but it was difficult, too, because it is a strong and conflicting character. A lot has happened in his life post the Batla House incident and to present that on screen, was difficult. It’s like walking on a double-edged sword and you don’t want to tilt either way. So, this is not Nikkhil (Advani, director) or my version of a story that we want people to believe in, but this is what it we believe in, factually.”

There are different perspectives around this incident, on which John says, “Batla House is not anti or pro any community or political establishment. It’s a story of this man’s life and what he went through. To put it in simple words, it’s a story of one man’s life. I am aware that there will be conflicting views even if you stick to facts as closely as possible. However, the idea is to build a conversation and I hope we have done that with this film. One way of looking at it is to show different perspectives to the story and the other is to make the audience think and give them a reason for constructive argument.”

T-Series presents Tera Shehar sung by Mohd. Kalam , written by Manoj Muntashir and composed by Amaal Mallik

Mumbai: July 3: After amassing over 72 million views on YouTube with their last single Zindagi Di Paudi, T-Series in association with Manoj Muntashir Entertainment and R-Chills Music has released their latest single ‘Tera Shehar’. Incidentally the videos of the both singles have been shot in the picturesque locations of Armenia.

‘Tera Shehar’ traces the path of love and sacrifice and is based on the concept of ‘If you love someone set them free and if they come back to you, they’re yours.’ The lyrics and the soulful notes of the song communicate the pain of love and loss and the sacrifice that goes along with love, and how true love always wins at the end. The music video stars Yaariyan actor Himansh Kohli and the lovely Pia Bajpiee. The heart touching song releases on YouTube officially today.

Lyricist Manoj Muntashir had been looking to launch his own production house since quite some time and Tera Shehar is the perfect venture to begin with. Launching the new, but extremely talented 22-year-old singer, Mohd. Kalam, was quite a journey for the wordsmith as he frequently meets a lot of new singers. However, the pain and rawness in Kalam’s voice appealed not only to Manoj Muntashir but also to the young, promising melody maker of our times, Amaal Mallik, who is the composer of the song.

Talking about the same, Manoj Muntashir said, “I am very happy to be launching not only my own production company, but also Mohd. Kalam with this song. I am eagerly waiting for the audience’s response, and I’m sure everyone who has been in love will relate to this track.”

Music composer, Amaal Mallik also expressed his happiness and said, “I have composed many songs in the past but this song has a special place in my heart. Mohd. Kalam is incredibly talented and his voice fits so perfectly with this song. The tune and the lyrics have an identity of their own and I hope the audience enjoys the song as much as I enjoyed composing it.”

Meanwhile, debutant singer Mohd. Kalam also spoke about his big break. He said, “I don’t think I could have got a better launch into this industry. I’m so grateful to everybody who believed in me and my talent. I hope the audience can connect with the song and the underlying emotions beneath it. My journey has just begun and I cannot wait to see where it takes me.”

Actor Himansh Kohli adds, “A lot of people would be able to connect with Tera Shehar. Not because they have gone through a breakup or because they may have had some issues but because there is pain in the song and Pain is a universal feeling. Voh pain sabki life mein, kahin na kahin, kisi na kisi form mein hoti hai.”

Pia Bajpiee on her experience of shooting the video says, “I am pretty privileged to be part of such a beautiful song which has been shot so stunningly. I am hopeful it will be liked by people when it is out.”

T-Series chairman and managing director, Bhushan Kumar stated, “My father always believed in giving an opportunity to new talent. I am glad that through Tera Shehar we are launching a new singer Mohd. Kalam, who has captured the feel of this song just the way it should be. I would also like to congratulate Manoj Muntashir for foraying into production with Tera Shehar and doing such a fantastic job at it. I had a smile on my face when I first saw the video of Tera Shehar. I am certain our listeners will not have any reason to complain.”

The video was shot in the beautiful country of Armenia in a span of four days. It is directed by Shabby Singh and produced by Vishal Sadhariya of R-Chills Music. ‘Tera Shehar’ presented by T-Series and Manoj Muntashir Entertainment in association with R-Chills Music is out now.

Emraan Hashmi gears up to play IAF officer KC Kuruvilla

Actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to portray Retd Air Commodore Kariyadil Cheriyan Kuruvilla’s (KC Kuruvilla) in director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte’s next film, Vayusena. The film will showcase Kuruvilla’s journey right up to the Kargil War.
Confirming the news, Vijay says, “Emraan hasn’t played a character like this before, and he loves such roles. It was an instant nod from him. It’s a human interest story that starts with the 1971 Indo-Pak war and ends with the Indo-Pak Kargil War of 1999. We plan to film at a real airbase, and it’d be great if the authorities allow us to use real fighter planes to present the story correctly and realistically. We are hopeful that the permission will come through soon.”
The story starts with KC Kuruvilla as a Flying Officer at the age of 26. In December 1971, during the operations against Pakistan, he served as a Fighter Bomber Squadron in the western sector. On December 4th, he successfully attacked an enemy aircraft on ground and airfield installations, in a strike mission over Chander airfield.
The next day, Kuruvilla flew another strike mission over Chishtian Mandi, scored a direct hit on the engine of a train, inflicting heavy damage to it, despite intensive anti aircraft fire. On December 6th, he undertook a strike mission over the Dera Baba Nanak area and attacked enemy tank concentrations. However, during this attack, while making a second pass over the target, his aircraft crashed after being hit by the enemy anti-aircraft fire, but he survived. The film encapsulates Kuruvilla’s journey from this point all the way up to the Kargil War, when he was still in service.
The film is expected to go on floors in November and will be wrapped up in a start-to-finish schedule.

he award winning duo to sing the Hindi musical tracks for Disney’s Live-Action Magnum Opus The Lion King!

25 years ago, Sir Elton John and a genius team of esteemed musicians sang the music we still know and love today: that of Disney’s Oscar winning animation The Lion King! The film established an unparalleled musical legacy, brought alive by a breathtaking Oscar winning score composed by Hans Zimmer. Who can forget the fun anthem of life and optimism ‘Hakuna Matata’, the romantic and soulful ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ and the inspiring ‘Circle Of Life’ …iconic songs that have remained evergreen till date!

And now in 2019, Disney is all set to present its legendary franchise and crown jewel – ‘The Lion King’ – in a live action version with ground-breaking technology that re-imagines the greatest story ever told. This one too, promises to cherish the musical spirit with re-imagined tracks by superstar Beyoncé and Donald Glover, as Hans Zimmer returns to compose the score.

With the Hindi dubbed version of the live-action being hugely awaited thanks to the casting coup of Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan as Mufasa and Simba, along with Ashish Vidyarthi, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra and Asrani rounding up the coterie for the character of Scar, Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu respectively, we hear that the music will be getting a desi touch too!

The talented singing icons of India – Sunidhi Chauhan and Armaan Malik are all set to lend their musical touch to the Hindi soundtrack of the film! Armaan will sing – Hakuna Matataand sing a duet with Sunidhi for Can you feel the love tonightand Sunidhi will add her sensational touch to Spirit!

Thrilled to bring forward the original legacy in a new avatar in the Hindi version, Sunidhi Chauhan saysWhile watching the original film, I have drifted with emotions – laughed and cried. So, to be a part of this venture was not only exciting, but something extremely close to my heart. I have beautiful memories of listening to the tracks of Lion King, specially one track – “Can you feel the love tonight”- which I have listened to on repeat mode on my long drives, on rainy nights of Mumbai. When you are a part of something great that already exists, you need to be closer to the original creation, not distort it, rather leave your own little touch. I have tried my best to justify the songs and the extraordinarily done visuals. The expressions of Simba, Nala, were so prolific, immaculate, that I knew I was in for something really interesting.”

Adds Armaan Malik, “After the massive success of Aladdin and the love I got from all quarters for my dubbing work in the movie, Disney India team brought me into the studio and said that they wanted me to sing the Hindi dubbed version of the songs of The Lion King, and I didn’t hesitate even for a second (as it was a no brainer) and said YESSS immediately!” He continues, “Lion King is literally my favourite Disney Film of all time! I usually never asked for many gifts from my parents when I was a child but I clearly remember telling my dad that I wanted to buy the whole DVD collection of Lion King and he immediately bought it for me. It’s such a fond memory that is still so clearly etched in my mind! I tried singing it the same way I felt when I first heard them back when I was a kid. I wanted to keep that same innocence intact, yet do some cool western inflections in my vocal delivery that could enhance the song. I think they have come out great and can’t wait for the fans to hear ‘em!”

Directed by ‘Iron Man’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ fame director, Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Lion King is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times. The heroic coming-of-age journey will make it to the large canvas with a pioneering and game changing photo-real technology, using cutting-edge tools to make the musical drama come alive on the big screen.
